Ok, obviously I need to work on this regular posting thing. Suffice it to say I've been relatively busy. I mean, here we are, almost the end of July - and how did that happen? Let's have a summer update then:
May 7, 2005 - I graduate from grad school. Very cool, since this was my first time on campus since becoming a student. A bit surreal as well - I'm probably one the only students who didn't know my student ID number for the survey that was being handed out prior to line up. Also a bit odd was the contrast between A&M and Georgia Tech. Everyone (at least all the undergrads at A&M) know the Spirit of Aggieland - no one except the choir seemed to be singing the Georgia Tech Alma Mater (and the Ramblin' Wreck only seemed to be going well for the first few lines as well). Still, all in all, it was fun, and made me remember all the work I'd put into getting that Master's degree. Plus, I may wear the cap and hood for Halloween!
May 28, 2005 Attend a wedding
May 31, 2005 Come down with really nasty summer cold.
June 4, 2005 Be assistant photographer at Quinceanera
June 18, 2005 Mom come comes to visit for the weekend. Yay! Mom helps count out patterns to get them sent off in the next week to Yarn Tree. (Side note, got picked up by Yarn Tree as a distributor in late May).
June 26, 2005 Assistant photographer at friend's wedding (plus the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner the night before).
July 2, 2005 Fly to Rio Grande Valley for baby shower for my best friend (who is also my cousin, so I'm staying with my mother-in-law) who now lives in Colorado. Have tons of fun hanging with the girls, flying back to Houston on July 4th to grill with DH, the brother-in-law and his fiance.
July 9, 2005 - I don't remember doing anything this weekend - amazing! Oh, yeah, glued to the Tour de France coverage.
July 16, 2005 - Squeeze in some scrapbooking time
July 17, 2005 - DH decides to do a 100 mile bike ride (in Houston - it is HOT!) I drive support.
July 20, 2005 - Phantom of the Opera!
July 23, 2005 - Help friends (the ones who got married on the 26th of June -see above) move some furniture. Tour de France.
And that pretty much brings it up to now. Plus throw in some designing, stitching, printing, and some real work and it is a wonder that the laundry gets done!
