Much sadness

In the face of yesterday's tragedy, words fail me. I ask the question, "Why?" and find it unanswerable. I can only find hope in the innumerable bits of courage as people reached out to each other, professors tried to save students, and students did what they could for each other that humanity is greater than the rampaging few. It is amazing how interconnected our lives are on this little planet are. Here, 1000 miles away from Virginia, I have a co-worker, whose sister was in the building next to the tragedy. Luckily, his family is safe, but our lives are all touched.

Today we grieve.
